I think there's plenty more that keeps people sleeping. This is a way to nudge some of them every four years.
When people discuss voting for measures, representatives, senators, etc, I let it slide.
However, whenever someone asks, or talks about voting for The President, I'm sure to let them know that "the people" have never elected a US President, per The Constitution. I think it leaves most confused (even on Nostr), but that's okay.

If someone makes a threat on Nostr that you deem to be valid, it might be wise to do the following steps:
1. Record their npub (and other mutable identifiers)
2. Record the noteID's and eventID's of the conversation
3. Copy the text of each note in the conversation
If you feel that you are in actual danger, you can use these items to state your claim to local law enforcement so they have a suspect for your murder, or give you a minimal decades-long sentence for defending yourself.

A gated community isn't the same analogy as Telegram groups. People don't join a gated community to share information. They join it for being able to close the gate; for privacy, or to keep the public out.
Compared to Telegram groups, where information is categorized, but also sharable with anyone that is outside the group.
The equivalents in Nostr would be a hashtag, or "relay turned into a category/group". People that are members share info, yet anyone can share that info to people that aren't members.
I still don't see what the issue is with this data being on global, aside from "it doesn't belong there". Based on what? It's not private information, and there's no negative aspect. What practical cause would necessitate non-private data being hidden from the "everything firehose"?

When I brought clove cigarettes to Norway, they thought they tasted aweful, until I told them to lick their lips.
For those that don't know, clove cigarettes usually have sweetened filters. Also, sugar wasn't common there at the time (probably still expensive).
