Just got my moltbot up and running... its helping me with my presentation for tomorrow at Plan B. We're jsut chatting while i watch it put slides together from the speech i recorded as an episode and i tell it what to fix or do different, it helped me break it down into bullet points and put it in order, and I gave it backgrounds created by my designer and we're just going to town 🤣
I'm not even joking this shit is kinda fucking insane.
PSA ! 🚨🚨
ISOLATE EVERYTHING if you are going to use this, seriously not a joke. don't you dare give it direct access to your accounts, jsut forward everything to *its* email and calendar, etc. I'm going to even isolate it on my home network
#nevent1q…jee8
I'm LITERALLY running it right now as of like 30 minutes ago and its legit kinda fucking wild
You're actually correct, lo.l. I conflated 2 diff videos and never watched the one i renoted without realizing. He was literally answering the point I brought up in the video
I tottally didn't watch the video i reposted. I had watched the demo and then renoted this one thinking it was the other apparently. The idea of using this as the way to favorite a driver (the very thing Lyft and Uber wont let you do) is fucking amazing. It's literally the way to *get around* the atomic network problem by letting you make your own.
Yeah my comment is completely off and this is such a great idea! Kudos to actually addressing this very thing 🔥
I literally posted because it WAS cool. I made a note about trying to build up network effects to help make it succeed.
I love anti-Ai takes. What are some of your best ones? 😆
One thing you need to understand more than ANYTHING else if you want this idea to work:
YOU NEED ONE SUSTAINABLE NETWORK.
Do not try to get more driers or adoption everywhere at once. Do ONE city and try to get a threshold where there are enough available drivers and users to actually be sustainable by itself. Then branch out. This will take a very direct and concerted effort though.
I would read The Cold Start Problem by Andrew Chen if you want a view of the network effects this is up against. It would be amazing to see something like this succeed, but I think the hard part isn’t building the app, imo.

Dude… calm down it’s just funny.

I think looking back will reveal the time we are living through to be a long political and economic depression that began around 2010.
If anyone is going to be in El Salvador 👇

I need to push the fix for the hypercores bloating. There’s a part of the cleanup after delivery that gets hung up sometimes and uses up extra space that it doesn’t need to. I have been meaning to get that fixed but we’ve been working on a refactor. Keep an eye out and update when the new versions drop. Right now this is still super alpha so lots will change.
This is because they *are* using a fish eye lens. It will appear concave and curve the opposite way if your straight line is below the halfway mark of the lens.
I can take a wide lens and make any curved object or straight line appear convex or concave or straight depending on where I place the lens in relation.
This doesn’t really give us anything of value to say one way or the other. They are obviously using a wide lens if you just look at the close up objects and try to draw straight lines.
Why would the sun be static under one assumption and then not under the other? The question is a simple application either model: is the sun moving across the sky or not? It wouldn’t support either model to take video and have it appear stationary. But obviously if you record for long enough it will move… so how does this apply in any way?
My proof: take a video of a blade of grass. Is it growing or stationary? Now do it over a few weeks. What’s the difference?
Actually I realize I assumed it was vibe coded, but regardless it CAN be vibe coded because I’ve done it 😂
This is exactly why we are going to win. 🔥🔥
Things like Nostr, Bitcoin and Lightning SDKs, Peardrive core, etc are going to make it even easier to do secure authentication, simple monetary integrations, and simple sovereign hosting or private connections.
This was VIBE CODED people! Even though I’ve not shared our many iterations, I’ve had this exact experience. Getting a basic tool for P2P sharing working in a few hours and then just fixing quirks and UI stuff for a few days to make it feel cleaner.
Things like the Pear stack, and Iroh, and Holesail (fyi @nprofile…ta3h drop Tailscale and just use Holesail here, much simpler UX) are huge leaps forward in the ability to self host these things.
My hope as well is that Peardrive core makes this so utterly simple to build with that amateur coders could use it in a way that feels no different than simple web development. And what you can do when you unleash people to create anything they can imagine is just wild.
We are going to win, but we will be waiting for it to happen until everyone reading this post realizes that YOU CAN JUST BUILD THINGS!

Just a tip, if “[something] flavor” is one of the ingredients, you’re probably eating fake food.

Seriously this episode was awesome and the read was such a fascinating theory. I usually don’t brag about my own podcast but this one was wild to dig into.

Is it? In that case that might be easier than I thought.
I think pressure builds and then things snap when stress tested. 2020 was a stress test of a long tail fidelity loss and cultural degradation, imo. It only revealed the truth that a lot of still sane people weren’t aware of, because the “urban bug men” still looked sort of sane in general day to day operations. It wasn’t until some lower layer reality revealed itself that the delusions and inaccuracies of their mental models were clearly visible.
At least that’s how I’ve been thinking about it for the past week or so in the context of that article.

This would be a great differentiator if a service could figure out how to zap split this by default when using their client. Not sure the feasibility of that though if there is even a NIP for zap splits or not. 🤔
Would also be interesting to have user choice based on whether they agree or not. You might repost something with the comment “look at this retard” and not want to give them any sats. I’d be curious to explore what’s possible here and if the UX could be made intuitive.

Somebody is running a local LLM that hit the context wall and went delusional 🤣
Well there are no journalists in the establishment media at all so I don’t know what the role of “journalist” even is anymore.
There’s probably some truth to that too.
Don’t even go to the comments for a post like that, lol. Was an instant “mute this conversation” 😆
Freeze everything. Our government is a fucking disaster of corruption and waste. They are driving this country into the ground and frankly they never had any constitutional powers to spend money on 99.9% of the bullshit they engage in. It’s illegal anyway, explicitly and unambiguously so.
So I barely pay attention to X anymore but I do still post regularly.
I muted a post the other day that was doing numbers and found out from an Audionaut that Elon had RT’d it. Suddenly it makes a lot more sense 😆

I don’t think you have the proper lack of faith as to the competence or ethical grounding of “the authorities.”
So you believe the “Learing Center” is a legit business that deserves millions of tax payer dollars?
This has nothing to do with their response or how they acted. And he didn’t have an obvious camera, he was knocking on the door asking for how to get his kid into the daycare. They were in full lockdown, blacked out windows, and defensive before there was any indication of what was even happening other than a parent enquiring about a daycare.
What you are referencing is an imagined concern in a situation that never actually happened. The actual events and their reactions are so horribly obvious that it slaps you in the face.
The CNN “fact check” was quite possibly the most Poe’s law thing I’ve seen in a year. Live on video they *called one of the daycares* and then asked them if they were a legitimate business, they said “yes” and then the “journalist” was like, “well there you have it.”
I legit thought it was Ai. I still kinda want to believe it was Ai because that level of retardation from a “serious” news outlet is difficult to comprehend.
To be more clear, what you are talking about is a situational evil, not a systemic one.
There are countless of these examples to pull from, but they require individual response, they are core to the structure of what is being done. We could spend every day for the rest of our lives focused on one off failures of govt like this (which wouldn’t be a wasted life mind you) and never even catch up to dealing with all of the immediately present problems today, let alone the millions more that will arise every year forever.
But what we are talking about that the daycare thing has shone a light on, is a vast, systemic network of fraud that totals in the trillions. A literal institution of fakery designed to rot the country from the inside out by draining it of resources to fund its own destruction. This is of a wholly different category and scope of problem than the situation you bring up.
That’s not 0.1% of the real problem here. You are focused on a twig and missing the forest if that’s where you think the real cost lies. Proportionality matters.
1000% have you not seen the insanity from the politicians, the attacks from Walz, the press events that bussed in a bunch of fake customers and kids, the “fact checks” from CNN?
There's an intuitively obvious way to know beyond reasonable doubt that the daycare situation is fraud:
If you actually had a legitimate business and someone with 1M+ followers came to your establishment with a camera to post online, you'd be overjoyed with the opportunity to show them around or brag about your daycare. Real business owners pay 10s of thousands of dollars for that kind of exposure.
The only reason you would lock down, get vicious, defensive, or violent, is because you got caught in a lie. Period.
You want to join me in a tax protest?
The point of the guns is to control the capital. When you have means to move capital around them it diminishes the effectiveness of the guns.
If we aren't trying to bend or break the immoral rules of a corrupt system in a peaceful way, then we aren't moving things forward. This is the *purpose* of P2P and censorship resistant technology. To build a better world around the corrupted one. Not to protect criminals, but to protect those who defy criminals in power.

Gotcha I didn't realize mutes were transferred WoT style and generally think the muting/blocking aspect should be personal, not transmitted unless explicitly agreed. In other words I think it should be "loose automatic white list, and manual blacklist" in implementation. Obviously likely scaling considerations there but i think that's a better default risk trade off in my mind at least. Could be missing something though, haven't thought about this deeply with hard specifics.
What do you mean "yes you are"? I haven't made a personal statement above. But again I was asking for the mechanism by which WoT is easy to manipulate. Are you saying that bots pretending to be fun or useful in a certain context to get people to follow them and then "turning on them" is the mechanism to propagate fake mutes/bans and that these naturally get spread through the follower network too?
I'm asking because i wasn't aware that some of these actions would be automatically adopted if that's what is being discussed. In other words, I was aware that people couldn't get "into" my bubble without some connection to the WoT rather than the notion that if a few accounts *inside* of my WoT would make an unintentional ban/mute for someone that I may want to follow. I actually wouldn't like that behavior generally. People mute for simple opinion, a response, or just being disagreeable. That s a negative thing to "crowdsource" so cheaply, imo.
My WoT doesn't respond to bots at all. Because i don't follow bots. What measurement or action is responding to this bot activity and why in this scenario?
“P.s ... All I see are bitcoin posts, surfers and a few pics of naked dudes with their butts in the air on sunny days. Is that normal here”
So wait… it’s not like this over in Bluesky? What do they even talk about? 🤔
I never saw WoT as "easiest to manipulate," millions of bots would seem to have no effect on it from an internal perspective. Not perfect of course, but what's the better option in your opinion?
(I'm assuming WoT here btw or did i miss something?)
Let me know how it goes. Curious to see other people's results 🙏
I don't think you understand what "too-big-to-fail" means or where it comes from then.
Monopoly is also not a common outcome of free markets. To the contrary it is almost exclusively a result of government interference. If you think you have an example to the contrary, you likely aren't looking at it very hard or are simply recalling what we were all forced to remember without any real understanding from our 5th grade history books.
Which is an understandable default, btw. Not a judgement. But it's jsut like believing the free market caused the Great Depression and the govt saved us from it and WW2 finally got us out of it... all are so deeply and obviously wrong given a real investigation into them, but we were all taught the very opposite so that's all most of us "know."
Govt: "We need your information to protect you from criminals."
[checks notes]
"Sorry, I meant to sell it to criminals so they can kidnap you and your family until you give up your money."
